The Fischer family hosted a special book launch for Grandma and her Chocolate Labrador author P. J. Fischer on Sunday, August 7, in Salem, Oregon. The book is dedicated to the author’s grandmother Mary Volk and a special author table had been set up with her white linen heirloom, nutball dessert and a large picture. Seeing his grandma’s face, her penetrating eyes staring into the distance, Fischer said, “it’s a real character piece. She worked awfully hard. It’s not just the person. It’s the times.” The author signed books, enjoying good times with family members present, and remembering happy moments of the past.
