Tickets are on sale for Linda Fischer’s Self-Discovery in the Mist of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy presentation at 92Y in New York City on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 12 noon.

The presentation takes a sweeping look at the discovery of the times and the people captured in a memory book written at the turn of the twentieth century. That period is long lost to even those in Europe but it was revealing and compelling, inspiring the author’s travels in this century. The memory book was a small book written by and for a young girl, which tells of an age of happiness and also undeniable tragedy.

“We can learn a great deal by looking at small things,” said author Linda Fischer. “The more I looked at the pebble, the more I saw eternity bubbling up.”

Following the Q&A, there will be a cream cake tasting with a coffee and tea service provided by Minted Prose.
