REVIEW: FOREWORD REVIEWS CALLS THE MEMORY BOOK “a compelling read for lovers of history, genealogy, and nostalgic artifacts”

Winter 2015, NEW YORK, NY

Foreword Reviews reviews The Memory Book: One Woman’s Self-Discovery in the Mist of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy in its Winter issue (Dec/Jan/Feb). Melissa Wuske writes, “As a memoirist, Fischer deftly fills the roles of both author and protagonist as she learns about the life of a young Austro-Hungarian girl. . . This book is a compelling read for lovers of history, genealogy, and nostalgic artifacts—anyone who’s ever stumbled on a topic or object that began a near-obsessive quest. The Memory Book showcases how old historical artifacts and personae can affect modern travelers.”

The Winter Issue will have a Holiday guide and newsstand presence at Barnes & Noble and Books-A-Million stores. The issue will also be distributed at the American Library Association’s Midwinter Meeting as well as be available on Zinio.com and via Flipster, EBSCO’s digital magazine newsstand with 80,000 library partners. The publication reaches a blend of 15,000 librarians & booksellers (including 1,100 IndieBound members). Read the full review
